Jackson Easily Wins Re-election

(Cleveland, OH) -- In other races around the city, Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson easily defeated challenger Bill Patmon and was re-elected to a second term. Speaking at a victory rally last night at Cleveland State University, Jackson told his supporters he hopes to quote, "turn current challenges into opportunities." In other races, Bay Village Mayor Deborah Sutherland beat Councilman Jim Scott to win a third term. Middleburg Heights Mayor Gary Starr easily defeated security officer Dean Conforte, making Starr the longest-serving mayor in the county at 28 years. Councilman Gary Werner defeated Brunswick Mayor Dale Strasser and retired police chief Dennis Hanwell defeated his two rivals in Medina, as incumbent Jane Leaver did not run.
