Bypass Your Video Equipment

If you are still experiencing problems with your TV picture, try bypassing all external equipment to test the signal and cable.


When troubleshooting a video issue and you need to bypass your equipment, follow the steps below to complete the bypass process. 

 Bypass Equipment 
Turn off your television and external video equipment (DVR, DVD player, etc.) 
Disconnect the primary coax cable from the device where it is connected. 
On your TV, disconnect whatever cord occupies the coax port. 
Connect the primary coax cable to the TV coax port. 
Turn on your television. 

If this resolves your picture problem, there is likely a settings problem in your video equipment. Consult the owner's manual or manufacturer website for each device.
