Can I watch a program that is currently recording from the beginning?

Yes. If you are recording a live program, you can view any portion of it up to the "live" point.

If I press the REC button after a program has started, will my DVR record the entire program?

Yes, but only if you have been tuned to the channel since the program began. 

Is there a limit to how far back I can rewind a live TV program?

You can rewind live TV up to a maximum of 1 hour.

Can I make a VHS copy of my recordings?

Yes, however some DVR recordings such as pay-per-view events, cannot be recorded to a VCR due to copy protection settings within the program content.Use these steps to copy a DVR recording to a VHS tape:

  1. Set your VCR to record as you would normally do when recording a program.
  2. Begin playback of a previously recorded program on the DVR.
  3. When the program has completed, stop the VCR.

The DVR and its recordings are "digital". Most VCRs and VHS tapes are "analog." Making an analog VHS tape of a digital DVR recording produces reduced quality results.

Can I automatically record all episodes of a program without having to schedule individual recordings?

Yes. When you create a recording, you will have the option to Record the Entire Series. The Series Manager also has several options that will allow you to record  only new episodes, include or exclude repeat episodes, or record the program when it airs on different channels or at different times. You will also have the option to choose the number of programs of a particular series you want to record.

What is Instant Replay?

Instant replay is an easy way to replay the previous 10 seconds of a program. If you press the instant replay button twice, the number of seconds is doubled.

Can I watch a program while recording a different program?

Yes. You can record a program while watching a previously recorded program or live TV.
