Set Up Your Cable Box

This article lists the steps for setting up a basic cable box connection to a standard TV, HDTV, or HDTV with HDMI.

Step	Description	Connection Options
1	Connect the RF (coax) cable from the wall to the CABLE IN port on the cable box.	RF (coax) cable
2	Select the video cable connection option and connect the video cable from the cable box to the TV If you select HDMI, proceed to step 4.	S-Video (Standard TV) Composite (Standard TV) Component (HDTV) HDMI (HDTV)
3	Select the audio cable connection option and connect the audio cable from the cable box to the TV	Stereo Digital Audio Coax Digital Audio Optical
4	Plug in the power cords of the cable box and TV to the wall outlet. Optional: Install other devices, such as a DVD player or audio amplifier according to the manufacturer's instructions.
5	Install the batteries in the remote control.
6	Program the remote. All steps complete.
