Cox CheckMate IV, RT-U49 Remote Control

To program the remote to control a device, perform the following steps:

Turn on the device that you want the remote control to control.

  1. Press and hold the DEVICE button and the MUTE button until the mode buttons blink in sequence.
  2. Press the mode button.

Audio-video receiver, amplifier, CD player, cassette player, digital music receiverAUDIO

Result: The mode button lights up.

  1. Press and hold the CH up arrow button until the device turns off.
  2. Press the MUTE button.
  3. When the device turns back on, press the mode button to lock in the code.

    Result:
    • The mode button blinks.
    • If the device does not turn back on, repeat the above steps until it does.

    Note: If you find a code that turns the device off but not back on, repeatedly press the CH up arrow button until you find a code that turns the device back on.

    All steps complete.
