Summary

Set the Cox DVR Universal M7820 to turn off all entertainment devices with the press of one button.

Solution

The Cox DVR Universal M7820 Remote Control is preprogrammed with a Master Power feature that allows you to sequentially turn all home entertainment devices on or off with a single button. To execute the Master Power control:

  1. Press and hold the POWER button for 1.5 seconds.

    Result:
    This will start the power macro sequence.

  2. Keep the remote pointed at your devices until all devices have turned on or off.

You can customize the Master Power feature by setting the sequence in which the devices will turn on or off when you press the POWER button.

Cox DVR Universal Remote Control

To set the Master Power macro, perform the following steps:

Press and hold the SETUP button until the LED on the cable receiver front panel blinks twice.

Using the number buttons on the remote, enter 9 - 9 - 5.

Result: The LED blinks twice.

Press the POWER button.

Press the device mode buttons (AUX, DVD, TV, and / or CABLE) in the sequence in which you want the devices to turn on or off.

Important: The last mode button selected should always be CABLE.

Press and hold the SETUP button until the LED blinks twice.

All steps complete.

To clear the Master Power macro, perform the following steps:

Press and hold the SETUP button until the LED on the cable receiver blinks twice.

Using the number buttons on the remote, enter 9 - 9 - 5.

Result: The LED blinks twice.

Press the POWER button.

Press and hold the SETUP button until the LED blinks twice.

All steps complete.
